Fall of Fear

Home » Fall of Fear

The melancholy of Fall signals change.
Falling expectations amongst persistent disappointment.
A darkening.
A quickening.
An ending.

As earth turns cold, a winter’s chill.
The comforts of old becoming obsolete.
Colors fade.
Animals sleep.
You seek a place to hide.

As fear sets in questions arise,
Yet, answers evade your prying mind.
When will light return?
Why do things change?
Will I survive?

You realize it’s not Fall you fear but “the fall”.
Not the weather, but your world.
Evil rising.
Darkness invading.
Death prevailing.

Though the fall is ancient history,
You can’t deny the anticipation of what’s to come.
Lies becoming truth.
Believers becoming persecutors.
Jesus being denied.

But, change comes from within.
You must choose every day.
Cast out fear.
Hold onto hope.
Be the light.

You crush doubts and iniquities under your feet,
Like turning leaves and echo affirmations loud and clear.
Spring is coming.
Love is enough.
We’ve already won.

In a desolate world where confusion is the norm.
On a course for destruction,
You are the detour.
You are the chosen.
You are the answer.

Believe in Jesus, He will never leave you.
With Him you have the power
To tell the truth.
To stand up to evil.
To win this war.

If not you, who, will fight for our world?
There’s never been such a time as this.
Act justly.
Love mercy.
Walk humbly with your God.
