In You

Home » In You

I have looked and not seen your face
in my neighbor and a stranger.

I have walked toward you
but turned away, instead toward danger.

My footsteps fail every time
I try to follow your path.

The journey only gets harder
if I don’t admit you’re all I have.

When will I acknowledge the blinding truth
that you came for us, came to save

me from my sin over and over?
I fail you daily but you love me just the same.

Lord help me to turn to you
instead of every lie

Satan tells me to keep me oppressed
alone and at his side.

I need you more today
more than I ever have before.

Help me to deny every idol the devil elevates.
Help me to settle the score.

In you I find my peace,
in you and your son, Jesus Christ.

In you I am a gift to others,
a blessing in this life.
