Meet Laura

bible poetry poem Christian blog writer writing

My name is Laura K. Beck. I am a Christian Writer and Content Creator focusing on bringing truth to others through God’s Word. Although it feels as though I’ve been writing forever, I’ve only recently taken my work seriously enough to share it with others.

My Writing History

In high school, writing was a job. A requirement for English class. After getting dumped by my boyfriend, it was a release in the form of tear-stained, long hand poetry. College was an epiphany…discovering that journalists don’t have to follow the rules.

Writing turned into an actual job after college at a small-market television station. It continued when public relations became my new career. Motherhood had me repurposing my creative juices to alternative things like how to make kid-friendly healthy recipes, how best to get red food dye out of white t-shirts and how to make motor-grader noises with my mouth. I tried my hand at photography to scratch my creative itch but never quite found my groove.

I rediscovered writing as therapy when my father-in-law died. It was the first time in a long time I journaled my feelings. I began journaling off and on and writing obituaries and funeral poetry.

Seek truth. find jesus.

My vision became clear in 2020. I began asking questions with my writing, searching for why the world had gone awry. With the Holy Spirit’s urging, I took the leap into sharing my words with the world on Instagram late in 2021. However, much of what I had to say was too much for a character-controlled post.

So, here I am. I can write Bible-inspired poetry and blogs without restraint thus feeding my growing urge to speak God’s truth into the current culture. I hope you find something here that will make you laugh, make you cry or just make you think. Most of all, I hope that the syllables you read here will bring you closer to Christ and urge you to give glory to God each and every day.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.

~Matthew 5:14-16
