This path, I didn’t choose it. It chose me.
Like a scrawny school kid picked last in P.E., my name was called.
God picked me up from below the depths and said “you’re up!”
I wasn’t ready, not the least bit prepared but those He calls never are.
He doesn’t expect perfection. That’s good because I was filled with flaws.
He expects obedience. Not good because it wasn’t my strong suit.
It took years of Him patiently whispering His plea for me to submit.
I thought I knew better? Who knows better than Him?
Short on knowledge but long on faith, I answered the call.
Little by little, He gave me all I needed to do His will.
It’s a battle every day to heed His instruction
When the world fights every day to bring me back to submission.
Lord, help me, I pray to remain on your path.
Light my way so that I will not be afraid.
Only in you can I live the life I was created for.
Only in you can I discover the path to eternal life.
